Miss Onalaska 2007: Katie Gorman

Katie’s platform as Miss Onalaska was to bring dispute resolution skills to as many youth as possible.Peer mediation is one way students learn to resolve their conflicts. Used in many schools, from elementary school to college, a team of peer mediators act as an impartial third party that helps students resolve problems amongst themselves. Katie’s believes that peer mediation should not only be a part of youth in schools but they should learn to use peer mediation at a young age and have it be a part of their life growing up.
